The trademark visible to visitors of a GitBook space could be hidden as an option.
This option would probably be reserved to non-free plans.
Can we please get an update from the GitBook product team on this? We are actively evaluating whether to adopt GitBook for our enterprise product suite and this is a sticking point.
This is a #1 requirement. It is very annoying to see this. What is the rational behind making it stick it so prominently for paid customers?
I would pay if this option was available. Really nice product otherwise.
Whatever value Gitbook thinks they are receiving from this on *paid* accounts, just incorporate that into the price and remove this. It makes no sense to advertise to our documentation audience and hurts our ability to make this part of our product experience. (The only conceivable reason not to budge on this, is if your viral co-efficient, segmented to leads generated from paid accounts, is greater than 1 - but I doubt that's the case). We just paid for yearly under the fair/common presumption this was not an issue for paid accounts; sadly it is. We likely would've even paid more, please see my first point.
Also, this is immediately post giving Gitbook a vote of confidence with $, what a horrible way to create detractors out of folks that should be immediate promoters.
Please listen to your customers!
Given the new pricing changes will you please revisit your stance on the "Powered by Gitbook". If you refuse to remove it for paying users then please at least move it to the footer as a plan text link. That's a fairly common place for hosted services to put their own branding information. The massive watermark you have now is distracting and conflicts with our own branding attempts.
This is literally the only thing stopping us migrating to GitBook. Everything else is perfect. We're more than happy to pay to remove it.
Please make it an option to remove the "Powered by Gitbook" logo for paying users. It is difficult to want to move our public documentation to GitBook when we can't fully control how our content is branded.
Completely agree with Dan. I know you removed the "Have an account? Sign in" part, which is a good first step. But the remaining "Powered by Gitbook" hides part of our side menu which is really frustrating. Can't you prioritize this once and for all or at least communicate on when this will get done? How many upvotes do you need?!
Of all the other most upvoted features, this really seems like the lightest one to implement. You need to make it optional, but as a quickwin, could you at least NOT make it overlap the side menu?
@Marc Perrin-Pelletier: This is definitely an issue. Just made our docs public and immediately noticed the "Powered by GitBook" logo is bigger than our company logo on the docs. Switched it back to private and hoping we'll get some information on GitBook's thinking on this.
What's the status on this? FWIW I'd be happy to recommend and refer GitBook to other folks in my network if you need to "spread the word," but degrading your user experience (especially for paying users) is not the right way of going about this.
